Inna Little Spin is consistently producing exceptional quality colts to all mares he has been bred to. The majority of mares are young unproven but reasonably well bred mares. ILS is producing talented, athletic good looking offspring with big stops, heaps of cow and good trainability. We currently have one three year old and two 2 yr olds in training with Robbie Boyce who has repeatedly commented that they are all very good colts and have showed more on a cow in one week than many of his other colts in his barn that have been in training for months. He is looking forward to showing ILS's oldest colt next year 'Inna CalBar Spin', out of Lenas Cal Bar Girl. 'Cal' has only been started on cattle since September but is so talented he will be ready to show by Spring in 2010. UPDATE: Cal won at his first show, the Green Horse Class in Ardmore OK in March and is attending his first big show The Drought Buster Derby in Nebraska in mid April.
Another success story from ILS's limited foal crop has been Playboys Inna Spin who was bred from our good Elan Playboys mare. 'Little Pete' was sold as a two year old to Mark Chestnut and Teryn Muench .
He was started as a Ranch horse as a two year old and successfully shown as an Extreme Cowboy Race mount as a three year old winning all his competitions and winning the Reserve National Championship against many very experienced older horses. The National Champion was an 11 yr old very experienced Cow Horse Champion making 'Little Pete's' performance even more incredible. In 2009 Teryn moved from Chestnut Cutting horses to establish his own training facility at Marfa near Alpine in West Texas and proceeded to train Playboys Inna Spin affectionately called 'Little Pete' for Ranch Horse Versatility and Working Cow Horse competitions and plans to campaign him extensively in 2010. He has also now recently started another ILS 2 year old Red Hickory Spin and has already commented that he is also showing a lot of talent and desire to work cattle. Unfortunately this colt has regretably passed away as a result of pheumonia complications. He was a good colt with a playful personality and will be sadly missed.
.
ILS's oldest colt in Australia, Inna Boomin Spin, has had a delayed start to his campaign as a result of being parked after Peter Watson was involved in a life threatening motor accident in 2005 where Debra focused on getting Peter rehabilitated and all horse training was put on hold for a few years. A week after the decision was made to send 'Boomer' to Martin Larcombe, because of his strong international reputation, to recommence his training, Equine Influenza struck South Eastern Queensland. All horse training or any horse related activity was grounded for nearly one year. When it was again possible to move horses internally in Queensland 'Boomer' was shipped to John Wicks, a leading Australian Reining Trainer based in South East Queensland, who had an empty barn as a result of EI so his training was recommenced. John was progressing rapidly with Boomer and very happy with his progress and came very close to getting him shown after only six months in training but soreness and sole bruising issues as a result of wet ground conditions started and after several long breaks to recuperate and several consultations with vets it was decided by us that it would be better to move Boomer to a drier climate so he was shipped down to Tatura in North Western Victoria to commence training with Martin Larcombe. By last reports he is progressing very well and showing plenty of talent as a show horse if we can get him shown after four years of trying!! Hopefully he will be ready to show in the 2010 season as a Derby horse for his first show season.
